TwistLab
An interactive 3×3 cube for learning notation, algorithms, and solving methods.
Problem & motivation
Reading an algorithm does not necessarily explain what each move changes. The simulator connects notation to the current cube state.
How it works
React and Three.js render animated moves while a separate cube-state model tracks scramble, undo, redo, and guided lessons. Method cards introduce Beginner, CFOP, Roux, and ZZ concepts.
Evidence & limits
Repository tests cover notation, deterministic cube state, and solver behavior. Animation, touch controls, and guided playback still need browser checks. The implemented puzzle is the 3×3 cube.
What I learned & next steps
I learned to keep cube state separate from rendering so moves can be checked without WebGL. I would extend those checks before adding another puzzle.
Source & setup
See the repository README for installation, commands, and the underlying evidence.
